I built this website to share my photo's from Costa Rica as well as the things that I have learned about Costa Rica since I moved here in September 2004.  I moved to Costa Rica because I met a wonderful Costa Rican lady (Gioconda Pucci Coronado) and we married.  My step-son (Manrique Levia Pucci) is the pride and joy of my life,  We also have a dog named Ronaldinho, named after the Brazilian soccer player. 

The Country
Costa Rica is a small country in Central America roughly the size of West Virginia.  It borders Nicaragua to north, Panama to the south, the Pacific Ocean to the west and the Caribbean Sea to the east.  Costa Rica has roughly 4 million people, roughly 1.5 million living in San Jose and the surrounding areas.   Costa Rica has 7 Provinces Alajuela, Cartago, Guanacaste, Heredia, Limon, Puntarenas and San Jose. 

The Weather
The temperature in San Jose is a constant mid to upper 70 degrees year round so it is pretty comfortable year round with the nights cooling to the high 50 degrees.  The temperature at the beaches is roughly 10 degrees higher 85 to 90 degrees.  Costa Rica does have a rainy season that goes from mid May and ends in early December.  It usually consists of sunny mornings with rain in the afternoons sometimes into the evenings.  The rainy season goes with the hurricane season in the Caribbean Sea, although Costa Rica does not normally get hit by hurricanes.  The humidity in San Jose isn't to bad, at least for me, although the beaches and rain forests are more humid.
